Velocity distribution plays an important role in the performance of microchannel devices. However, traditional microchannel plate design processes are based on experience with the existing models, which limits the ability to achieve optimal performance. Here, topology optimization is introduced into microchannel plate design, achieving a new microchannel plate with lower power dissipation and more uniform velocity distribution. A detailed design procedure was performed and an ANSYS Fluent analysis was carried out to further confirm the accuracy.
