Compared to conventional protein microarrays, the aptamer microarray is a relatively new and competitive method for analytical applications. The three‐dimensional folded aptamers show excellent binding specificity and affinity, and thus, can be used as an alternative to antibodies. Immobilization and binding effects of aptamers under different combinations of surfaces and spacers for aptamer‐microarray applications are investigated. In addition, the effects of spacers integrated at the terminal position of aptamers on made in‐house and commercially available microarray supports are explored.
