Information about the elongational flow behavior of dilute polymer solutions was obtained, which allows conclusions to be formulated about the extension of polymers and the elastic characteristics of such systems. It is shown that dilute polyacrylamide solutions, which show Newtonian behavior concerning the shear viscosity, can show elastic properties in elongational flow experiments.
