Depending on the selection of the experimental reactor and the reaction conditions, the experimental determination of kinetic data of heterogeneous gas‐catalytic reactions can be linked with a wide variety of problems. It is critical to detect them and to either exclude or duly consider them in evaluation. Some disadvantages by homogeneous and wall‐catalytic side reactions, referred to as ‘blank reactions’, have been investigated using different experimental reactors.
