Despite the importance of gas‐liquid contactors for chemical and biochemical processes, information in the literature on the dispersion characteristics in these systems cannot be considered as complete. In particular, there is still a need for correlations which can be used in the optimum design of contactors with dual or multiple impeller configurations. This contribution presents new experimental data and corrected correlations for the complete dispersion regime in the presence of gross recirculation patterns of gas in these mechanically agitated systems.
