Micellar liquid chromatography (MLC) is an alternative to conventional liquid chromatography, using micellar solutions instead of mixtures of water and organic solvents as mobile phase. These micellar solutions allow controlling retention by changing surfactant concentration and thus micelle concentration. MLC was studied for the separation of phenol using a reversed‐phase column and sodium dodecyl sulfate micelles as micellar mobile phase.
