Compared to the Ag/Al 2 O 3 catalyst, a two‐stage catalyst composed of an Ag/Al 2 O 3 layer followed by a Sn/Al 2 O 3 layer shows higher low‐temperature activity and a wider temperature window. Its activity below 350 °C is enhanced in the presence of SO 2 . Even in the presence of H 2 O and SO 2 , the performance of the same catalytic system is still satisfactory.
