With a modified standard ring shear tester yield loci of highly dispersed, dry powders were measured at preshear normal stresses down to 32 Pa and shear stresses down to 10 Pa. At small consolidation stresses stress, σ 1 , (< 500 Pa) the values obtained for the unconfined yield strength, σ c , are proportional to the consolidation stress, σ 1 .
