Of late, developing non‐precious catalytic protocol with high performance is of primary significance and furnishes fascinating sets of results for synthetic chemists. This minireview describes the advances and scopes of nickel nanoparticles being employed as catalysts in Heck cross‐coupling reactions of aryl halides and olefins in 21 st century. We have focused on the methods of preparation of nanocatalysts and emphasized on different techniques employed in the generation of nickel nanoparticles or bimetallic alloy nanoparticles.
