The Front Cover shows the concept of the chemoenzymatic conversion of glutamic acid into 3‐cyano propanoic acid using the vanadium‐dependent haloperoxidase from Curvularia inaequalis (CiVCPO). CiVCPO catalyses the formation of hypohalites from H 2 O 2 and halides, which then mediate the oxidative decarboxylation of amino acids such as glutamic acid. In their Communication, X. Xu, A. But et al. outline the factors influencing the efficiency of this transformation. The high product titres achieved and the excellent catalytic performance of the biocatalyst point towards preparative‐scale application of this reaction and valorisation of agricultural waste‐derived glutamic acid into a building block for chemical synthesis.More information can be found in the Communication by X. Xu, A. But et al..
