The Cover Feature conveys the notion that a single volcano plot is able to describe multiple forms of the same catalyst. In their Full Paper, M. D. Wodrich et al. demonstrate that different ligation, oxidation, and spin state of a catalyst are all governed by the same set of linear scaling relationships. As a result, a single volcano plot built from these relationships can describe multiple forms of the same catalyst. This fact renders these plots powerful tools for the screening of prospective catalysts, since the catalytic ability of each form of a catalyst can quickly be established by computation of the corresponding descriptor variable and placement onto a previously constructed single volcano plot. More information can be found in the Full Paper by M. D. Wodrich et al. on page 1586 in Issue 7, 2018 (DOI: 10.1002/cctc.201701709).
