The Cover Feature shows an effective and inexpensive strategy for Co(C 9 H 9 NO 2 ) 3 complex‐catalyzed Sonogashira–Hagihara cross‐coupling of aryl bromides containing electron‐rich and electron‐poor substituents with terminal alkynes under visible light irradiation. In their Full Paper, J.‐Y. Song et al. present the structure of the cobalt complex and propose a possible mechanism for the visible light‐assisted Sonogashira–Hagihara coupling reaction. They found that novel diaryl ethynes were afforded in moderate yields under mild conditions. A comparison with the high‐cost palladium catalyst showed that cobalt is a suitable inexpensive catalyst to technologize production. The results show that the Pd/Cu‐free catalytic system enables an efficient process with good functional group tolerance.
