Polymeric carbon nitride (PCN) nanorods with surface carbon modifications were prepared in a one‐step procedure by using phenylene‐bridged organosilica nanotubes as structure‐directing templates. The carbon‐modified PCN nanorods demonstrated enhanced activity in photocatalytic hydrogen production and the degradation of methyl orange relative to conventional bulk PCN and PCN nanorod templated from pure silica nanotube. The enhancement is attributed to the nanorod structure and the formation of carbon nitride carbon heterojunctions, which facilitate photogenerated charge separation and migration.
