Abstract The synthesis and structural characterization of novel metal–organic‐framework‐type materials obtained from the reaction of 5,10,15,20‐tetrakis[2,3,5,6‐tetrafluoro‐4‐(4‐pyridylsulfanyl)phenyl]porphyrin ( H 2 P1 ) and 5,10,15,20‐tetrakis(4‐pyridyl)porphyrin ( H 2 P2 ) with copper(II) acetate is reported. The new material, CuP1S , shows higher heterogeneous catalytic activity than the homogeneous porphyrin–copper(II) complex CuP1 in the oxidation of catechol into ortho ‐benzoquinone in the presence of air (O 2 ) or H 2 O 2 (30 %).
