The cover picture shows the geometric model of a Pt highly concave cube with one leg on each vertex (HCCLV) that can promote electrocatalysis or elctrochemiluminescence (ECL). The synthesis of both highly concave Pt nanostructures and Pt nanostructures comprised of 3D and 1D structures has rarely been reported. In their Communication, J. Lai et al. report the synthesis of a Pt HCCLV for the first time. The Pt HCCLV exhibits excellent catalytic activity for the electrooxidation of alcohols and electrochemiluminescence. The article highlighted by this cover can be found on p. 1064 ff. of Issue 7, 2015.
