Lucky bag: Suitably substituted acyclic diaminocarbene (ADC) ligands were demonstrated to generate a chiral pocket around linear gold(I) complexes. These new catalysts were used to perform the very first catalytic enantioselective cycloisomerization/ acetalization tandem reaction.
