Turning over a new catalyst: The concept of hydrogen evolution from formic acid has developed rapidly in recent years. The change from ruthenium to iron as catalyst metal marks a milestone in the field. Novel iron phosphane catalysts have made considerable progress towards an applicable hydrogen delivery system.
