Cheers for the support: By varying the support, the hydrogenation of nitrobenzene occurs either through a direct route in the case of Au/TiO 2 catalysts and through a condensation route over Au/CeO 2 catalysts. Adsorption on the surface of the catalysts is discussed as a possible key factor in determining the route.
