Al 2 O 3 ‐supported copper nanoparticles prepared from cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) capped copper nanoparticles are effective water‐gas shift catalysts. High activity can be explained by the presence of well‐dispersed Cu nanoparticles on the alumina support due to strong interaction between CTAB and the Cu nanoparticles.
