Dual to the death: Catalyzed by [Rh 2 (OAc) 4 ] and a chiral phosphoric acid, an enantioselective symmetric three‐component reaction of diazo compounds with imines and water is reported to give β‐amino‐α‐hydroxy acid derivatives in good yield (up to 86 %) with excellent diastereoselectivity (up to 98:2 d.r.) and enantioselectivity (up to 97 %  ee ).
