Higher ground: Stereospecific and quantitative [2+2] photodimerization of trans ‐1,2‐bis(4‐pyridyl)ethylene in solid state is effectively catalyzed by 4,6‐ dichlororesorcinol in a supramolecular fashion. Grinding is the crucial process to drive the catalytic cycles.
