Special addition: The addition of aromatic CH bonds to vinylsilanes proceeds smoothly in the presence of Ru/CeO 2 . The choice of appropriate additive realizes catalysis on the solid surface. This catalytic reaction can be carried out without solvent on a large scale to achieve a high turnover number. Modification of Ru/CeO 2 with PPh 3 under a H 2 atmosphere markedly increases the catalytic activity.
