Abstract Occult fractures are challenging to diagnose, especially those involving an implant surrounding the suspected fracture site. This is the first case wherein 18 F‐sodium fluoride positron emission tomography substantially helped to diagnose peri‐prosthetic and peri‐implant fractures. The application of this imaging modality warrants further study.
