Key Clinical Message Pial arteriovenous fistula ( AVF ) is an extremely rare disease in children. When a child presents with sudden onset of hemiparesis and headache, it is very important to perform spinal magnetic resonance imaging ( MRI ) scanning for early diagnosis and treatment.
