Key Points Alcohol septal ablation (ASA) carries a greater risk of complete heart block (CHB) than surgical myectomy. The authors propose a risk score to help determine patients' individual risk of CHB, using preprocedural, procedural, and postprocedural factors. These data may help guide temporary pacing time and postdischarge rhythm monitoring of patients after ASA. Further data are still needed to better individualize CHB risk and perhaps to inform the choice between ASA and surgical myectomy if the risk is low.
