Key Points Bioabsorbable drug eluting‐stents have been tested in randomized trials, typically excluding complex coronary procedures. In a large study, bioabsorbable polymer drug‐eluting stents performed similarly to durable polymer stents, even in complex procedures. The incidence of stent‐related events is so low, even in complex procedures, that proving superiority of new stent platforms are becoming very challenging.
