Key Points The identification of patients at high risk for readmission after cardiac valve treatment is essential to improve patients' clinical outcomes and quality of life. Anemia, neurological disease, chronic kidney disease, and electrolytical disorders are the main drivers to worsening heart failure or arrhythmias after surgical or percutaneous treatment of mitral regurgitation. These factors should be carefully addressed during the index hospitalization and monitored during close follow‐up.
