Key Points The balloon expandable Cheatham Platinum (CP) covered stent can be successfully implanted in some older children with hemodynamically stable traumatic aortic injury. The CP stents can be delivered via smaller sheaths and reexpanded over time as needed. There were no reported complications, albeit in this small cohort of patients with hemodynamically stable traumatic aortic injury. Continued advances in balloon expandable covered stent technology are needed to improve delivery profile, fixation and sealing zones, radial strength, and flexibility.
