Key Points Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death among men and women in the United States, yet are treated differently. Women under the age of 55 in the PROMETHEUS study had more comorbidities than men, and worse outcomes, yet received less aggressive anti‐ischemic therapy. Increased enrollment of women in trials may illuminate the gender gap in the treatment of patients with ACS.
