A 59‐year‐old man suffered a transient ischemic attack (TIA) and was found to have a patent foramen ovale (PFO). Six months after closure with a 25 mm Amplatzer PFO occluder there was a significant residual shunt at transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). A coil was implanted and TEE 4 months later showed complete closure. © 2011 Wiley‐Liss, Inc.
