Transcatheter closure of mitral paraprosthetic leak (PPL) using femoral antegrade transseptal or retrograde approach is often unsuccessful when the involved part of the mitral annulus is difficult to access or when the left atrium is large. We report the successful use of jugular venous approach to perform transseptal antegrade PPL closure in a 49‐year‐old male with mitral PPL located in the anteromedial part of the annulus. This technique could serve as a useful alternative in patients in whom transcatheter closure of mitral PPL is technically difficult. © 2009 Wiley‐Liss, Inc.
