Orbital atherectomy represents a newly developed technology for the endovascular treatment of peripheral artery disease. There is currently limited data with regards to the safety and efficacy of this treatment. Herein, we describe a case where orbital atherectomy was utilized to treat a heavily calcified superficial femoral artery, and describe a previously unreported side effect of orbital atherectomy, hemolysis induced pancreatitis. © 2008 Wiley‐Liss, Inc.
