The current economic, social, and political climate presents such an unprecedented threat to the mission of community colleges that only radical changes will ensure a future in which their quality and purpose are maintained. This chapter offers a framework for how presidents and boards can meet the urgent need of staying true to the college's mission in the face of emerging fiscal and educational crises.
