Changing entrenched patterns of interaction among presidents and trustees has great risks and great rewards. Acceptance of personal responsibility for changing outdated patterns of management is the president's task, while the task of the trustee is acceptance of personal responsibility for selecting a president who has the leadership capabilities to accomplish this goal.
