This chapter describes an interventionist system implemented by a large suburban community college to respond to underprepared students. Rather than ignoring the problems of underprepared studentsand relegating them to second–class status, the college worked at connecting and supporting all students equally to demonstrate that intrusive and interventionist policies need not be punitive.
