The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in June reported a 30% increase in suicides from 2000 to 2016, and although rates went up across all age groups, the researchers were particularly concerned about adolescents. Concerns centered around social media use, anxiety, depression, and self‐inflicted injuries, all of which are on the rise among teens.
