The use of apps in general has been an area of explosive growth over the past 10 years. A simple click on the “app store” reveals an overwhelming number of apps for every topic one could imagine, and it is not surprising that some are being applied to assist users in accessing and supporting mental health treatment and monitoring progress. Essentially, the rationale for use seems to be that apps can give access to mental health treatment of some form, which is better than none and will reduce the problem of lack of access to treatment.
