Nonsuicidal self‐injury (NSSI) in teens is a risk factor for suicidal behavior as well as linked to psychopathology, denoted by poor self‐regulation, but little has been known about how these connections work. Researchers, therefore, wanted to look at how parental psychopathology and personality contribute to adolescent NSSI.
