Apparent differences may be deceptive : The targeted bioactivity space of small molecules can be mapped using unbiased, multiparametric profiling approaches. Morphological profiling by means of the cell‐painting assay revealed a similar mode of action for structurally diverse compounds with different annotated targets and defined a cluster based on profile similarity for iron chelators, DNA‐targeting compounds and cell‐cycle regulators.
