Keeping sulfate: The extracellular endosulfatases, which modulate signaling pathways by removing sulfate groups from heparan sulfate can be inhibited by replacing the 6‐sulfate destined for cleavage with an inhibitory sulfamate motif. Glucosamine‐6‐sulfamate analogues demonstrate biochemical inhibition and utility as tools to understand the biological and therapeutic relevance of the endosulfatases.
