Gram‐positive biofilms, beware: A new class of small‐molecule biofilm inhibitors functions with significant potency against clinically relevant biofilm‐forming species, including methicillin‐resistant Staphylococcus aureus , vancomycin‐resistant Enterococcus faecium (a VRE), and Staphylococcus epidermidis. The biofilm‐inhibiting compounds, all 2‐aminobenzimidazole (2‐ABI) derivatives, were found to act by sequestering zinc.
