In profile : We describe the use of peptide arrays to probe the substrate specificities of several histone deacetylase (HDAC) enzymes. The combination with SAMDI‐MS avoids the need for labels, which we demonstrate can perturb enzyme activity and lead to altered enzyme specificity.
