Agents of disruption . Different classes of synthetic protein surface binders were prepared in an attempt to disrupt the oncogenic interaction of the receptor tyrosine kinase, KIT, with its ligand, stem cell factor (SCF). We report potent scaffolds, such as that illustrated in the figure, capable of interfering with the binding of SCF to the extracellular ligand‐binding domain of KIT and disrupting cell signaling stimulation.
