Speed of light : We report a new photosensitive probe that takes advantage of the electronic structural changes associated with the formation of triazole rings in Cu I ‐catalyzed Huisgen 1,3‐dipolar cycloadditions between organic azides and terminal alkynes. We have succeeded in performing photoligation on a timescale of seconds. We also report an efficient procedure using photochemical ligation for the preparation of a DNA probe for quick SNP typing.
