Crystal visions . We have developed a novel calix[6]arene derivative 1 as a topological template of template‐assembled synthetic proteins. In addition to its high crystallinity, the bromine‐containing template facilitated phasing in X‐ray analysis. This revealed four conformationally different structures of 1 (see figure). The X‐ray structure showed that the template adopts the desired flattened‐cone conformation, and its p ‐bromophenylalanine moieties have the suitable flexibility for introduction of various peptide chains.
