Bioimprinting is established as a potential strategy to improve the catalytic properties of enzymes. The main constraint of this technique is the loss of acquired imprinting property in an aqueous environment. By using a c ross l inked i m p rinting approach (CLIP, see scheme) the substrate spectrum of glucose oxidase was broaden in aqueous solution. Galactose was accepted as a novel substrate by CLIP‐glucose oxidase and it was oxidized to galactono‐1,4‐lactone. Compared with the natural substrate glucose, a surprisingly high 42 % of productivity was reached by CLIP‐glucose oxidase reaction with galactose.
