The reaction of niobocene trihydride [Cp 2 NbH 3 ] with ClPbMe 3 in the presence of amine affords the plumbido dihydride complex [Cp 2 NbH 2 (PbMe 3 )] ( 1 ). Compound 1 represents the first example of a stable complex with neighbouring hydride and terminal plumbyl substituents. The structure of this compound has been established by NMR and IR spectroscopy and confirmed by an X‐ray structure analysis.
