The thermolysis of [CpFe(CO) 2 ] 2 ( 1 ) and P 4 or As 4 affords the iron clusters [Cp 4 Fe 4 (E 2 ) 2 ], E = As ( 2a ), P ( 2b ), the Fe 4 E 4 skeleton of which consists of a triangulated dodecahedron. S 8 and gray Se oxidize the P 2 ligands of 2b with formation of [Cp 4 Fe 4 (P 2 X 2 ) 2 ], X = S ( 3a ), Se ( 3b ), complexes with the hitherto unknown P 2 X 2 ligands, 2a, b and 3a, b have been characterized by X‐ray crystallography.
