Na 2 Te and Na 2 Te 2 , prepared from Te and Na[Et 3 BH], react with 9‐Cl‐9‐BBN to form bis(1,5‐cyclooctanediylboryl) telluride ( 1 ) and bis(1,5‐cyclooctandiylboryl) ditelluride ( 2 ), resp. 1 reacts with water to give elemental Te, (9‐BBN) 2 O, and (9H‐9‐BBN) 2 .
