Dendrimers and Dendrimer Building Blocks with Trisubstituted Benzene and “Hexacyclene” as Core Units The preparation of new dendritic compounds containing 1,3,5‐substituted aromatic units or “hexacyclene” is described. Bulky dendrimers are obtained in few generations starting with polyfunctional core units like 1 , 4 , 5 , 12 , and hexacyclene ( 21 ). The dendrimers were synthesized by using both the divergent method (for 7 ) and the convergent method (for 13 and 22 ). 22 is the first dendrimer containing a crown unit as core.
